Newport Residents and Supporters -
I strongly urge you log in to www.stunewsnewport.com and read the article from Editor Tom Johnson called 'Fair Game' regarding the efforts by Team Newport to limit the type of candidate forums that can use city facilities without a fee, and to limit which candidate forums can be broadcast on NBTV.
This is a proposal that appeared on the consent calendar at last Tuesday’s City Council Meeting.
It would appear that on the direction of Team Newport puppet masters Dave Ellis and Bob McCaffrey, they have already decided which 2018 forums they are going to ignore, and don’t want their empty seats seen on TV. Groups such as AirFair, Line in the Sand/SPON, the Democratic Women’s Club, California Republican Assembly and others would be impacted. In addition, forums sponsored by media organizations, such as Feet to the Fire Forum would also be covered by this proposal.
From abuse of campaign contribution laws, misuse of the city seal, or taking credit for ballot measures they once opposed, Team Newport continues to block transparency, and limit your access to information. Expect an avalanche of mail in the next few weeks from the Team Newport candidates.
